Therese Davison – chair, board of trustees

The daughter of a public high school band director, Dr. Therese Davison is a retired music educator with over 37 years of teaching experience. She taught instrumental music as well as music theory, composition, vocal music, and general music at one time or another during her 31 years with the Conway School District in New Hampshire.

In “retirement,” she continues to direct the MWV Community Band, chairs the Mountain Top Music Center’s Board of Trustees, teaches privately, plays saxophone, flute, and clarinet with the Bridgton Jazz, and is the founder of the Sláinte Saxophone Quartet. Additionally, she opened North Conway Instrument Repair specializing in band instruments.

Dr. Davison received a Doctor of Arts from Franklin Pierce University as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, a Professional Certification in Educational Leadership, and a Master’s of Education in Integrated Arts from Plymouth State University. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with both a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts. In her younger years, Therese presented a variety of workshops at conferences and in schools around the North Country.

She lives in Conway with her husband Randy and enjoys visiting her son, daughter in law, and four grandchildren in the San Antonio, Texas area. Therese is also a newly inspired practitioner of yoga.
