Faith Hofma, Violin

Faith Hofma, violin, holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. During her time at VCU, she served as Concertmaster of the Virginia Commonwealth University Symphony. She also performed in masterclasses with Rachel Barton Pine, Bonnie Hampton, the Brooklyn Rider String Quartet, Aviv Quartet, and Lawrence Dutton of the Emerson String Quartet.

Faith has operated a private studio teaching violin and piano for over twenty years. She has also taught at St. Catherine’s School and Veritas School in Richmond, Virginia. She is passionate about fostering creativity and technical excellence in her students, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles.

Faith has also worked extensively as an orchestra musician, chamber musician, and studio musician. She has performed with the Richmond Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, Lynchburg Symphony, and Opera on the James. She also performs frequently with her quartet, Quince String Quartet.

Following a move to New Hampshire in late 2024, Faith currently is now engaged in the music community of her new home state and the broader New England area.
