SUMMER 2019 GROUP CLASSES

GROUP CLASSES:

You may pay in full, or pay $30.00 to reserve a spot.
For 4-week classes, the fee must be paid in full before the first class. For 8-week classes, 50% of the class fee is due July 1 and the balance is due August 1. For one-time classes and camps, payment in full is due before the first class meets.
If you are registering a week or less before the beginning of the term, you must pay 50% of the class fee to reserve a slot. 

FREE OR DROP-IN CLASSES:

Some classes (indicated below) allow students to drop in without registering for the entire 8-week session. For drop-ins and participants in free classes, it is important that we have your contact information if we must cancel a class or change the time.  There is a nominal $2.00 registration fee.
If there is no one at the front desk to collect your drop-in fee, please give it to the class instructor.

Babies from birth through two years old play interactive games involving familiar songs, rhymes, and rhythms. Activities are designed to stimulate cognitive development.

Ages: 2.5 – 5 years

Children use familiar folk songs to learn principles of rhythm and pitch. Through singing, dancing, and the playing of rhythm instruments, children lay a foundation for further music study. Prereading skills are incorporated in drawing and coloring activities.

Children will learn the basics of playing guitar, including correct left and right hand positions. Basic music and chord reading is also included. No prior musical experience necessary.

Learn how to create music on our many smart gadgets. An introduction to equipment, app and MIDI setup, Daw setup and vocabulary, building tracks, layering instruments, and basic mixing tools. Possible introduction to electronic music and synthesizers.

All melodic and rhythm instruments welcome.  Melodic instruments will work on playing melodies together, soloing and improvising, following forms, cueing, playing swing and more. Rhythm instruments will work on playing together, swinging, following forms, dynamics. Sessions will end with the two groups playing together. Participants should be comfortable on their instruments.

Play a variety of music for recorder consort (soprano, alto, tenor, and more!) in a friendly and informal group setting. Bring your own instrument, or limited loan instruments are available. Basic knowledge of the recorder and reading music preferred, but all levels (and types of recorder) welcome!

The green “CONCERT SCHEDULE AND RESERVATIONS” button on this page will take you to a schedule of concerts. There is no need to sign in to view the schedule, but when you click “Add to Cart” to reserve seats, you will be asked to sign in with a user ID and password. If you have bought a concert ticket in the last several years, that info was emailed to you on or around April 26, 2018. If you have misplaced your info, click on “Forgot” and enter the primary email for your household (the one that receives concert directions and/or invoices from Mt Top). That address will then receive an email with your credentials (you may have to check your spam).  You can also call our office between 10 and 5  Monday through Thursday and we will give you your information. If you are a new user (never registered for a lesson, purchased a concert ticket, or recently donated to Mountain Top), you must create an account in order to purchase a concert ticket. You will receive email confirmation of your payment.

A few hints:

  • The Firefox browser is not supported, and the system is not optimized for mobile devices, although it may work OK on tablets.
  • To see concerts in chronological order, select Sort By Start Date in the upper-right corner of the listing screen.
  • Ignore any references to selecting a “pay plan.”

IMPORTANT: When making a credit card payment, please the note the check box below. If left unchecked, your credit card will be securely saved in our system, and will replace any card we currently have on file.

 

Please indicate any seating or other special requests in the “optional comments” section of the payment form. If you would like to be seated with other guests, please provide their names and we will do our best to seat you together.
